We live in an old brick home and are remodeling our kitchen. One wall that we are having to change electrical on is mortar and brick with a layer of vermiculite insulation fill between. So when the electrician was working he noted it and said we needed to get it tested for asbestos. My wife called a local company and they said they could be out then next morning and the test fee would be $850.

My wife told me and I started laughing. I told her to tell them no thanks. I got on Amazon and ordered a test kit for $45. We maybe had to wait a couple extra days for shipping, but for a $805 difference it was well worth it.
