1 paragraph brief summary. Include a description of your soft skills or major accomplishments.

Skills section, 4 columns, not more than 20 listed.

Professional Summary. One sentence on company/role to give perspective.

Bullets of accomplishments. Start with an action verb (try not to repeat them), followed by what you did, followed by measurable accomplishment.

Example:

Directed team of 6 developers on new product development, improving quality 25%.

Education, list your major and school.

Add any professional designations/certificates.

Once you have this, have multiple people put their eyes on this for feedback.

This becomes your ‘base resume’.

You’ll then feed this into ChatGPT with a prompt like:

‘You are an executive recruiting headhunter expert. I am going to paste here a copy of my resume. After posting, you will prompt me to provide a job description. I will then provide the job listing. You will provide feedback on adjustments I should make to my resume. Before responding, think through how the response can be best tailored for the position based on my experience: You will also draft a compelling one-paragraph intro I can send via LinkedIn InMail. Are you ready for my resume?’

This allows you to quickly tailor your base resume to one that would work for that job listing.
