Their administration made some crucial errors in notifying the MWC they were leaving and then saying "just kidding, we didn't really mean that". They embarrassed themselves trying to get into the Pac-12.

It's too bad for SDSU they were dealing with the Pac-12 and with institutions that did not want to be together. USC/UCLA were gone. Oregon/Washington wanted bigger and better once they saw the LA schools were heading out. And the 4 corner schools were jumping from a sinking ship.

Biggest losers last offseason: Washington State, Oregon State, Stanford and Cal (for the travel they now have to do) and SDSU because the cards just did not fall right for them.
