So hear me out. The football team every year should have two volleyball or bball
players on the roster who play for our volleyball or basketball team and have the highest upward reach (including vertical jump) of anyone in school. Think of how high Keta gets up.

They don’t have to come to practices. They don’t have to risk injury in any way. Just go out shoulder to shoulder at the correct angle relative to the path the ball would have to take and do a two person volleyball block attempt at any field goal beyond whatever yard distance it turns out to be where a kicker can’t just pop it up but needs to get a low trajectory.

We did this with a single Kaufusi one year and blocked more than normal. When the rosters can be as big as they are and scholarships versus NIL is less of an issue, why not have two people to make field goals almost impossible beyond the 35 or whatever distance it would be?

Only downside I see is people would fast follow the plan and you lose your competitive advantage. But until they fast follow you could make things harder for your competition than for you.

I could see them even blocking some low kicked extra points. The d-line prevents anyone from hurting them and they could even where some swag to protect against any finger sprains or bruised forearms.
