I was on a cruise recently that featured a “Bionic Bar” where a robot bartender could make drinks. It was actually pretty fun to watch, and could make a huge variety of drinks. This is the place that makes them:



I figured it would have a markup over a normal drink, but was surprised there wasn’t. It made a Shirley temple for the same price as everywhere else on the ship. But it also charged a mandatory 18% gratuity.

I was required to tip a robot. I think this is a new low.
