It must've been frustrating in 2021 for him sitting on the bench in Provo. His teammates knowing something that his coaches didn't at the time. He was one of the team captains, but the coaches didn't trust him enough to play him at the time. They went through an entire Spring and Fall camp and coaches trusted the other guy more. HE WAS HEALTHY when they played at BYU last. Some Ute fans and bloggers posting as "insiders" insist he was battling an injury then to, but that's garbage. He was healthy enough to play. Something Ute fans conveniently forget. He wasn't named the starter for a reason and it had nothing to do with health.
I like Rising. I think he's a really good College QB and football player. Leading his team to 2 PAC 10 titles is nothing to sniff at. I don't blame him for taking a 7th yr to get all the NIL he can because he's not getting drafted. Good for him.
The game isn't until November and knowing his injury history there's a solid chance he doesn't even play then.
Bring on the smack talk. I might be in the minority, but win or lose I like the rivalry banter. Within reasonable lines of course.
