Yeah everyone calls it "stomach flu" and it is pretty darn common.
Usually you are still carrying active virus for a few days after you start to feel better. Best rule of thumb is to wait at least 24 hours after you last had a fever.

It ran through our family about a month ago. It was really bad for a day or two, then lingering symptoms for a few more
