Some of the trailer/motor combinations on traditional pontoons exceed the cost
of the boat, except on the very low end. I am not dead set on getting a pontoon boat, but it is a reasonable option for cruising/watersports

My daughter has a Malibu Wakesetter for the surfers in the family but there are several who just want to get out on the water and cruise around or do things like tubing, wakeboarding or slalom skiing. Sure, all that can be done on the Wakesetter as well but surfers usually keep it busy.

New boats, like everything else, are outrageously priced. Maybe I can find a good used one that meets our needs.

The jet on the Sea-Doo Switch was attractive without breaking the bank (cost includes trailer and engine) and 230 HP should be plenty on something that small. I am used to pulling skiers and wakeboarders behind our Sea-Doo GTXes so I am familiar with towing with that engine.
