I watch my transmission temps in my 3/4 ton. On hot days backing up the trailer in the campground is worse on the
transmission than climbing the mountain passes at 100F+ and 30mph with 4k RPM on the V8. It's crazy.

On very steep climbs (such as out of Green River on I70) I can get my transmission up to 204 or 205F.

If I"m parking in the campground it will spike to 210F, even with the engine fan, it's hard to dissipate heat from your drivetrain if you aren't moving. But even moving a little bit, just 20-30mph, under stress, the vehicle is designed to suck in that hot air and cool as much of the transmission and engine as possible, and it does a good job. But 5mph would be killer on your drivetrain with those temperatures.
