I was on a walk 2 days ago and walked by some neighbors who are in their 70's I don't know well. I was wearing my BYU hat and after a pleasant "hello and chat" with the wife, he said, "Did you graduate from BYU?" I said, "Yes". He gave me the Miami fingers together U signal. Then he said, "Maybe the rivalry can come back again." I said, "I'd love there to be a rivalry, but without all the hate." He shook his head and said he hated BYU. His wife looked at him and asked if he still felt that way; was it worth fighting about. He explained to her that he'd fight again today about it; that he did when he was a kid and he'd fight again. She was appalled and tried to excuse his lack of manners. I'm sure they have had words since. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF BEING A UTAH FAN - THEY JUST HATE BYU AND THE SPONSOR; even after 50 years.
