I think it's difficult to say how the world would have shaped up if the

American Revolution hadn't happened. Maybe it would have been just like Canada, where GBR just lost interest 100 years later and would have moved on. But I suspect even representation wouldn't have convinced the colonies to stick around long funding Britain's wars on the continent.
