I have been on 20 cruises. A couple of things to consider
We went on our first cruise to Alaska over 20 years ago. I have learned a lot.

- On our first cruise I booked excursions only with the cruise line. Now, I look at a lot of things. Search for exursions on the web and you will generally find better deals. However, I still use the cruise line occasionally. Also, when you get off the ship there will be a ton of tour providers waiting for you. Some of the best excursions I have taken have been unplanned.

- I have been on two Alaska cruises and have experienced very good weather. However, keep in mind that it rains in Juneau over 250 days a year. Be prepared for wet weather.

- If you have a stop at Victoria - go to Butchart Gardens. They are the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. It's amazing!!!

- Buy some magnetic hooks. The cruise ship walls are metal. Space in the cabins is limited. Metal hooks will allow you to hang things up.

- Relax and have fun!!!
