coach, TJ Woods, and how much he likes him! Which is really good, because I don't think Pay would still be at BYU if Funk were still the coach, at least that's kind of what he hinted at. He also said his younger brother did not even have BYU in his top 10 until a coaching change was made.
I questioned the Funk hire from the get go. He had some good years, but was unemployed at the time of his hire. This being BYU, we'll never know the circumstances of coaching hires, but my opinion, BYU spent a ton of money to get Hill on board, and there was no money left for any other coaches. After another rough year, and BIG12 money coming down the pipeline, BYU went out and paid for a quality O-Line coach.
I would love to see the salaries of the BYU staff today, compared to Kalani's first year, or Bronco's last year. It would probably give us all a little bit more perspective!
