For the last 12 years, we BYU fans have been depressed knowing that our arch rivals were in a power conference reaping all of the benefits and rewards of greater pay outs and notoriety while we floundered in Independence and the WCC. We all had the impression that we were being excluded from the "big kid's table" simply because of who we were and are, and saw no light at the end of the tunnel.

Now we find ourselves in a power conference. If this is not reason enough to smile, we also find ourselves in a day and age where the conference that spurned us for so many years while also inviting our rivals has been completely destroyed. Furthermore, that conference was destroyed in large part due to the hubris and narcissistic tendencies of the red-clad step-children in SLC. The smile grows wider as you see this same hubris portrayed in the behavior of Ute fans on social media, with our Big 12 counterparts realizing the delusions of grandeur emanating from "the hill" and how unbearable this commuter school really is. Chuckling occurs when you realize that we have surpassed Utah's monetary resources via sport's revenue, and are significantly better funded within the context of NIL.

It is a good time to be a BYU fan.
