Progressive now instead of going though an insurance agency. Progressive doesn't make this very easy. They want to protect their agents, which is understandable. (Apologies to any agents out there). But baked into your agent-backed policy is a commission to the agent and when you change your policy to direct, by applying with them yourself, either over the phone or online, you get to save essentially that commission that would have been paid to the agent.
