Play in a top 5 league but only Pulisic, Robinson, and Balogun have a stable situation where they are relied upon for regular minutes. I don’t think it’s any surprise they were the sharpest and most reliable players this window.
Mckennie should be on this list after how he played last season but Juventus once again are trying to move him and I think his frustration with his club situation showed in his poor play this tournament.
Richard’s was starting regularly towards the end of the season but mostly as a dmid not a cb.
Reyna and Turner can’t get any minutes no matter where they go.
Musah and Weah are off the bench utility players for their club teams.
Adams spent the year in bubble wrap.
Scalley was constantly on the verge of getting benched, but played quite a bit and ended up being the surprise of the tournament.
TLDR I can’t fault this generation for being ambitious but playing regular minutes regardless of where is an underrated indicator of performance, it obviously doesn’t replace talent. But that talent won’t be maximized unless it is getting regular minutes.
