There was a HUGE step down from Balo to Pepi tonight. Pepi had steel boots on tonight, and just wasn't effective. Balogun solidified the 9 this tournament, and it's a larger gap than I'd honestly like.

We are out of ideas in the final third. We spend so much energy in the first 20-30 minutes bombing down the wings. When that comes up fruitless it really puts us on the back foot for the rest of the game, and we're tired. We couldn't get a single decent shot on goal in the first half. Balogun was fighting for the badge like crazy, but we simply can't depend on overlapping runs -> crosses to reach him. I'm not sure what the right answer is here. I'd love to play more direct and take advantage of our speed and technical ability in the middle of the field, and use our wingers to play off the striker, instead of playing do-si-do with the outside backs.

McKennie left it out there on the field today and gave it his all, but his touch was also lacking, and I'm not sure he's being used correctly either.

Pulisic is great. No complaints. He's brave, confident, and rarely does the wrong thing on the ball.

Our GK situation is dire. Man alive. Hope Gaga can be the prince that was promised.

Our CB situation is also pretty dire. I wouldn't be surprised if Ream played his last US game tonight.

Really bummed about the result and the tournament. There was some terrible reffing. Just terrible. The fields were generally poor. The results didn't go our way.
