It's been a few years ago but didn't feel unsafe

Spent about a week in Harare and then a week in 2 safari parks (Mana Pools and Hwange) and never felt unsafe. Just be smart about where and when they go (like any other city) and they shouldn't have a problem. Financially, Zimbabwe is a mess due to the long standing corruption.
