and smoke for about 24 hours without needing to change charcoal once you stabilize the temp (maybe 30 mins). The ONLY downside is that starting them leaves you smelling like you been in a campfire and then you have to clean out the ashes afterward.

With a pellet smoker, you can go out in a shirt and tie set it and go.

The charcoal smoker requires a bit of work + a shower. It's not THAT inconvenient though if you just plan properly.
