If he's powerful enough to throw 20 people in the air with the force, why is there then a struggle later with any of the fighting?

Also, when the Jedi Master (don't remember his name, don't care) is about to kill the baddy and the girl (don't remember name, don't care) says "no, wait, I have a better way, I'll attach the robot I love to his back and the creature things will carry him off and kill him. That seems to be a much more efficient way to kill him, then as a bonus, I lose the robot I love…"

Also, why introduce a ton of characters if you are just going to kill them all off? Nobody is going to care about any new characters now if they are just all going to get killed. Yeah, we know, you're bringing back the dumb witch mom as a character, but we didn't really care about her anyway.
