Anyone here know much about Amazon claims?
Amazon just rejected a claim I made for product failure.

I'm currently on a road trip and I bought one of those Thule rooftop cargo boxes. Fairly happy with that purchase--very sturdy.

My problem is that our '94 Astrovan doesn't have those rack things on the top. I saw some pretty impressive commercials for this Gorilla Tape stuff, which is supposed to be even more powerful than mighty duct tape, AND Gorilla sold a double-sided version. So I bought a roll of double-sided Gorilla tape and got what seemed to be pretty good adhesion for the cargo box.

Well, we were driving on I30 approaching Little Rock and I guess Gorilla Tape is only good for a few hours because that cargo box flew off like a napkin on a picnic table on a windy day and bounced into an ag truck following too close behind me. Busted the windshield and forced the driver to swerve and out came two commodity swine, which died instantly.

The farmer is asking for $1,300, replacement cost of his windshield (which I agreed to), and replacement cost of his two swine (we are haggling over value, these were no Berkshires or anything).

Seems like Amazon should be responsible for selling a defective product, but like every bloated major American company customer service means nothing and they don't stand behind their products.

Anyone have more luck getting through to them? Any pro tips?
