I have a ~17-year-old Bullfrog Spa and one of its pumps is on the fritz. Bullfrog will sell me a replacement pump for $700, but I see (what looks like) the same '56-Frame' motor (HP & flow) on other sites for $300. Has anybody installed a pump? did you go OEM or use a generic? I've replaced most of the unions/connections over the years.. but other than that the thing has been crazy low maintenance. However, do to its age id don't want to spend $700 on it :). (It has 2 pumps... it works fine with one disconnected/off 🙂 )

2nd question... it's showing its age. The exterior is made out of some synthetic wood material. I'm trying to figure out what the best type of paint/stain would work on it. Has anybody ever painted their hot tub?
