Maybe it will make more sense in the movie, but from the trailer it seems that this guy built his entire home to be a large torture trap/puzzle thing for the sole purpose (with the "Belief" and "Disbelief" doors) of testing LDS missionaries when they eventually knock on his door. Again, maybe there's a good explanation for it in the movie. But from the trailer, it seems pretty ridiculous.
