LX470 --> We need this as a family car --> OEM Wheels are rusted, better get 17s, 34"s and a 2" lift --> Now we need a GX470 as the family car. --> Drive the GX too much --> Better get a new Tacoma so we have a reliable vehicle, and a stick shift and keep if for 20 years-->Put too many miles on the Tacoma --> Oh crap, now I have 2x off roaders with a V8 and 200k miles and another new one that can't take 20k miles/year depreciation hit! --> Need something as a daily driver with 30mpg. --> Hey look, that 20 year old BMW Z3 gets good gas mileage! --> Signs up for new insurance policy and have no more room in the garage..


So yeah, it's significantly cheaper to just deal with desert racing stripes on your beautiful 4Runner than to end up with 3x off roaders and a roadster.
