about 5 years ago. I used to hire an HVAC guy to come out and do the annual maintenance but after the installer HVAC person showed me what is done by the annual HVAC maintenance person, I just do it myself now. Being in TX, it's a major nightmare when the a/c isn't cooperating.

I'll also add that I regularly inspect and replace my filters throughout the year as well.
