Gotta consider Jack Dempsey, heavyweight champ for years. When I was a kid many
argued Dempsey was the GOAT. Ring Magazine ranked him very highly all-time. Mike Tyson has praised Dempsey as a great, too.
Jack was really more of a light heavyweight or cruiserweight today but dismantled guys much bigger than himself.
Recency bias being what it is, people may not give Dempsey his due. Speaking as the old fossil on CB, I can assure you being a dominant heavyweight champion was the equivalent in the sports world of Mahomes or Michael Jordan today. And Dempsey was LDS, but an admitted "Jack Mormon".
