It’s rare for me to experience such a pleasant dream that feels so real while still feeling like I had the best night’s rest. Most dreams of this nature for me are in extremis, so waking up is a relief. As I stirred and began to wake up, I was thinking to myself, “Why don’t I ever share any of my insights with my brother or CB? I am the freaking POBYUFT after all!”

BYU was preparing to play a sold-out exhibition game against an alien team from outer space. We were preparing by practicing with the KC Chiefs, and once a week, we would scrimmage against the alien team. It was amazing to watch practice sessions. All I could say is that guys were flying around… literally some of the aliens could fly.

There were several other experiences that validated that I was the POBYUFT. I was evaluating the functionality of alien tourniquets (don’t ask me why—it was a regulation thing). Players were asking when we were going to get a rocket ship to play an away game at this alien team’s home—wherever it was. I’d respond by saying, “Soon, soon.” However, as I was waking and wondering why I’d never told my brother—also a huge BYU athletics fan—it dawned on me how little I knew. My knowledge of the football team as the president was an aggregate of my dream and past CB posts. Beyond realizing how far-fetched and strange parts of my dream were, I knew my brother would want to know about recruiting and the only laughable juicy bit of insight that came to mind was that Ryner Swanson was killing it in practice and that we had another 4-5 star TE recruit strongly leaning our way.

So, thank you CB for contributing to my presidency and tricking my brain. Ryner Swanson, I don’t even know what you look like, but know that you were in my dreams. I woke up feeling great. I associate it with today being my first day of a long vacation and my dream as POBYUFT. It was a great ride while it lasted.
