I’m a chubby little 8 year old at this time and cared very little about the actual game of basketball. I just liked hanging around the ladies and stealing the yummy gum the trainers kept by the water. This one game I was assigned to be the towel/mop guy sitting behind the basket. At halftime I went to get myself a treat from the kiosk as usual but instead of a cougar dog and I chose skittles…

The game started back up and there was a free-throw at my basket. I couldn’t wait to open my skittles… so I pulled them out and tried opening the bag and it basically exploded, pouring skittles all over the court during the free throw. With a stern look from the ref… and the coach… and my sister, we all picked my skittles off the Marriott Center floor. The ref told me no more skittles! I don’t think I’ve seen many 8 year old children be ball boys/girls since…
