Agreed, but I think his point is that in BB, if you get a handful of really
good players and toss in a Jimmer or Ainge, you can put a pretty competitive team on the court. Not the same in FB. A handful of really good players and one or two elite players won’t get you there. Too much going on in every play. Too many plates spinning.
It’s a little easier to catch lightning in a bottle in BB. And consistently once you have developed that reputation.

Edit: a little unfair description of what is needed for a competitive BB team. Only one team a year can have the NPOY, so you don’t even need a Jimmer or Ainge to be competitive. But it doesn’t hurt!!!
