projected #1, #2, and #3 teams in the nation in Houston, Kansas, and Iowa St along with 3 additional teams projected as top 20 in Arizona, Texas Tech, and Baylor? BYU could have a better team than they did last year and still easily finish 1 or 2 spots lower in the standings based upon how much better the top of the conference is supposed to be.

If you are voting 1, 2 or 3 you are basically saying you think BYU is one of the NC frontrunners and a strong contender for a 1 seed in the tourney. If you ar voting 4 then you are more or less predicting a top 10-15 caliber team and at least a 3 or 4 seed in the tourney (i.e. Jimmer's senior year).

I would personally put that latter outcome (top 10-15 and 3/4 seed in tourney) as the ceiling of this team and a possibility but not what I necessarily expect to happen.

FYI, Torvik currently has us projected as #9 in the conference, and I wouldn't be surprised if KenPom has us projected similarly as they both use similar methodologies in ranking teams. I'm optimistic and think we can finish in the 5-7 range again, but it's going to be really tough to finish any higher than that. Top 7 in the conference is likely Top 25.
