I just thought I’d post something positive about a BYU sports camp since I read a lot of negative posts on BYU camps (mostly football). My daughter is at the cross country camp this week and is having a great time.

She said the head coaches are involved and have spoken to the group multiple times. She says she’s learned a lot about training and sports psychology that will really help her. She’s had a little trouble adjusting to running at altitude (we live in Kansas) but she’s really enjoyed running in the foothills.

She says the other kids have been very friendly and said the dance they did last night was the most fun she’s ever had at a church dance because everyone actually wanted to be there.

She’s also loved staying in the dorms and eating in the cafeteria to get a feel for what going to college there would be like since she’s planning to apply this fall.

Anyway, if you’re thinking about sending a kid to the BYU cross country camp, I’d highly recommend it.
