I don't mind seeing folks excited about Pope as a coach
I appreciate the time Coach Pope spent contributing and leading the program at BYU. He mentored under Coach Dave Rose and then put his own stamp on the program when the time came. We had some great players and teams with Coach Pope. We all appreciate players like Yoeli Childs that he recruited back, Jake Toolson, Alex Barcello, Jaxson Robinson and many others who played under him.

I am sure that Pope is well aware of the lofty expectations that go with the job in Lexington. They want Final Fours and championship runs. He's taken quite a different tack in putting together his first roster than Coach Calipari did for the last 15 years.

He's an enthusiastic guy who also has a lot of good elements as a coach. Will be interesting to watch his time there unfold.

In the meantime, I think we all are excited as well for the Coach Kevin Young era to keep moving forward. His personality is much more low key - he seems to let the results of his efforts do the talking. He's got heads spinning!
