I would take what you are hearing from BYU coaches understanding they are salesman.

My instinct is a big part of why he chose BYU was because of "guaranteed" playing time. Let that be in the form of the HC promising it on his visit or the kid being aware of the roster and knows his PT is "guaranteed." If he is not a critical part of the rotation his FR year I guarantee he transfers out. He is not a developmental option for BYU. For both he and Demin it will either be some form of feast or famine-if they are not what they are projected to be by all the experts-they will leave BYU after year 1.
