Guys, I know its fun to poo-poo on Kalani/ARod right now, and the 2020 season...
But can we just take a sec to really appreciate how much fun that season was?

I really didn't start following BYU football closely until 2002/2003 when I got into football as a youth and my older brother went to BYU. I admit I missed some really fun seasons from 20+ years ago. 2006/2007 were really fun years. I was a student in 2007 with season tickets and can remember 4th and 19 against Utah. I was on my mission for 2008/2009, and I understand that those were some good years too. From there, we had a lot of good-but-not-great years in independence.

For me personally, that 2020 season was the funnest I can ever remember. When you consider how crappy the whole world was at that time with the pandemic, BYU football was a huge highlight for me that Fall (perhaps even *THE* highlight). Yeah, we were playing a crappy schedule, but I never got tired of watching BYU run up the score on those teams. I got to go watch them in Houston, which was a good game to attend. And although Coastal Carolina didn't end the way we wanted, it was a good game with a lot of crazy fun build-up. We put that game together on a Wednesday! And then the hype of tracking Fili and Hal driving the truck across the country.

And yeah, poop on the schedule all you want, but we played and whooped up on Houston, Boise, and capped it all off with one of the most lop-sided wins in bowl-game history against UCF. It wasn't even close in Boca Raton. They didn't even start scoring until we let them.

No matter what happens, even if our offense sucks and A-Rod gets let go (or perhaps even Kalani), that 2020 season will always have a special place in my heart.
