Not saying this is what OP is trying to do, but I often see people dismiss women's sports because they can't hang with the men. I don't understand this. Sports can be interesting at many different levels of competition. High school girls soccer can be interesting. So can middle school boys wrestling. etc. etc. Just because something isn't the highest possible level of competition within that sport doesn't mean it should be ridiculed or dismissed.

To me, dismissing women's sports because they're not as good as the men would be like dismissing college football by saying, "the national champ would still get dominated by even the worst NFL team." Yeah, that's true, but who cares. It's a totally different level of play.
