Fair. But chemistry WAY better as a concern vs. a strength at this stage
If we are talking about chemistry, maturity, discipline, etc., as a team strength at this stage, which is not all that uncommon at BYU, it usually means we lack athletes or playmakers to get excited about.

It’s often the equivalent of “guys flying around.”

The fact that chemistry is even coming up right now as a potential concern is evidence that we may actually have shooting, scoring, size and athleticism on paper. Accordingly, we’re moving down the list of potential concerns until we reach chemistry.

Even at BYU, team continuity is hardly guaranteed. Last year‘s team came together (Duquesne notwithstanding), but that was hardly a given at this stage of the preseason. This year‘s group could very well have unique chemistry challenges for a squad in Provo… or they could fall in quite well as the team recognizes how good they can actually be.

Either way, I’m happy to be discussing it instead of who the heck is going to put the ball in the hoop or stop the opposition from doing so.
