Our home has always had a slightly undersized AC unit. Does great for the main floor but bedrooms are upstairs. I have been wanting to get one of that upright AC's that you vent out the window but don't have a great location in the master bedroom to put the unit. Wife has seen the wall mounted ones... like this

I don't even understand how they would work without a way to discharge the heat out of the air conditioned space. Are they worth trying?
