We have an SUV with three rows. The back of the second row seats has the almost carpet like backing. The glue has become loose over time and our youngest peeled it off the other day.

I'd previously glued part of it back up, but it made the car stink for days. I'd like to avoid the glue sniffing on our long upcoming roadtrip. What safe, strong adhesives are out there for this type of job?
