See your avg player score of 85.79? That’s the avg talent score per recruit. Compare with rest of B12, ranks last. Your large recruiting class/quantity, factors into the team ranking.
So, would you rather has 25 guys with an 85 talent ranking in your class (see BYU ranked #5) or 11 guys with a 90 talent ranking in your class (see Colorado ranked #15)? Utah and Colorado could have taken 10-15 more middling 3* in their HS classes, but didn’t. Why?
Quality > quantity. They went to the portal to get more talented guys than available from HS.

I'm not sure we know what the "just good enough" line is that the administration holds. I know CBs line is quite high.
