overbooked (Hampton Inn). Hampton Inn tells me the reservation had been cancelled. I contact Expedia and they have no record of cancellation. Totally a fabrication by Hampton because they oversold. This was in Akron, OH, night before Hall of Fame game in Canton, so a lot of hotels sold out. We had to go to a Hilton and pay a very much higher price.
Hampton Inn hadn't cancelled reservation, and had the cajones to charges us for the room they said we didn't have a reservation.
Expedia claims they can't do anything without Hampton Inn, and Hampton Inn wouldn't do anything--even had spoken to manager, who would not return call. I had to dispute charge with credit card company and Hampton didn't fight it. I'd have liked to have seen them try. Pretty damning to have charged us a night and yet denied us a room.
I've never used Expedia again and I won't stay with Hampton Inn. I really liked Hampton Inn's but pretty bush league to not have done anything about it.
