For basic shocks, get Eibach or Bilstein. They are height adjustable at the
shock collar where the spring sits. There are clips that go in different locations to set the ride height and the instructions will tell you how much they lift. Note they can’t be adjusted once installed unless you disassemble everything again.

A spacer lift is a little cheaper but it’s almost the same amount of labor to install because it goes on top of the shock and spring which require the shocks to be pulled out of the shock tower. Some say spacer lifts ride harsher but if you rarely go off road, it will be fine. Personally I’d replace the shocks since it’s the better option and isn’t very much more.

For leveling you probably want clip 2. I’d consult the 4Runner forum or the shock manufacture’s documentation to confirm. I believe 3 is usually 2.5” which is the max you generally want to go without changing other things like control arms. 3.” definitely needs control arms, rear springs and a sway bar relocation kit. You don’t need a diff drop kit.

Note the nose may sit a little high on setting 3 unless you upgrade the rear springs with a 1” lift. Again check with the 4runner forum to get the right setting and hopefully see examples.
