You don’t want to play Utah and compete directly because it accurately measures the gap between Utah and BYU football programs.
You know the gap, but don’t want to acknowledge it preferring to hide behind transitive arguments, conference strength claims and moral victories.
You’ll deny this and say you don’t want Utah because we’re “toxic”. While the rivalry is unfortunately toxic, which btw you contribute plenty, apart from this Utah doesn’t bring toxicity to the B12.
The school and program don’t conduct with disrespect and does bring value to the B12. So, this leaves us to the fans. There are some bad Utah fans on Twitter sparking some disrespect being fanned into something bigger by some bad BYU fans. That’s all there is to this, not much.
So, let’s stop with the handwringing and lace ‘em up and play and see how we stack up.
