Played better than anyone else on BYU's offense in an overall miserable team performance at WVU - but made several good throws, on time (unfortunately, two big perfectly thrown chunk yardage throws were dropped, one by Isaac, one by Chase). Credible first start.
TERRIBLE second start against ISU - in another team collapse, highlighted by the cleats debacle in which BYU players (including Retzlaff) had bad footing all night. Made bad decisions and bad throws though.
Solid third start in a near miss against a ranked OU team where no one expected a win. One big mistake, otherwise solid.
Decent fourth start in driving wind and freezing rain in another game no one expected a us to win, but we got to OT with a chance to do so when Isaac fumbled.
Just saying "0-4" doesn't mean much without context. If you'd just taken the first three starts of Ty's senior year (AFTER he won the Heisman) you'd be saying "0-3" - because it turns out that playing Penn State, Florida State and UCLA was a pretty tough run that year.
Context matters. For a de facto frosh QB thrown into the deep end to start at WVU, vs ISU, OU and OSU, pretty tough run.
