event (not) happening is journalistic malpractice. She took the accusations at face value, was only too happy to air it all over national television because it confirmed her priors (nice try attempting to stick that particular form of dishonesty on me, btw), and has never said jack squat to the contrary ever since even though there isn't a shred of corroborating evidence backing up her claims. She helped tarnish an innocent kid and get him banned from campus for doing absolutely nothing wrong and also dragged an entire student fan base through the mud. Tom Holmoe doing what he did was bad, too, for many of the same reasons but it's no excuse for someone that is supposed to be a journalist.

You said it yourself – Holly is a self-avowed "anti-racist". Anti-racists are the "believe all women" of the race hustle movement. They are honest about the fact that they aren't interested in actual truth about what happens, but instead come at all situations with the assumption that racism exists everywhere and it is merely the job of the "anti-racist" to uncover it. And that is exactly why people like Holly uncover "racism" where it doesn't even exist. The sad irony is that they think they are the good guys helping reduce racism, when instead they keep it alive in the hearts of people who are only too happy to confirm their own priors when they see a 5-minute interview clip and think "well yeah, I always knew those BYU people were racists and here is my proof." Someone who was actually interested in honest reporting and taking the flames out of racist rhetoric would loop back to provide the other side of the story so that people around the country would know that in fact there isn't any proof here of BYU fans hurling racist insults at Rachel. The fact that Holly has never done anything at all to that effect tells me all I need to know.
