Both Knell and Waterman have solid basketball skills - even elite potential if you look at shooting from range.
In today's day, with it looking as if roster continuity and mature leadership are essential for a team's success, these are the type of guys we need, especially in a transition season with a new coaching staff.
While I agree they are not "elite" athletes, both are good athletes and better than they get credit for. Noah Waterman has good coordination and movement as a big guy, and gets up and down the floor well. He's gotten a lot better in how he takes the ball to the rim when given a chance and finishing strong, even though his physique is more slight. Knell has gotten better and better as a defensive player and communicator.
I am thrilled to have these guys, especially the mindset they have. Physical skill matters, yes. But to echo what "roseyscenario" always says - leadership matters most. Mindset matters. These guys will help us immensely.
