Hiring programmers doesn’t make a company look like it’s growing
Hiring sales people that bring in revenue is all that matters. The programmers that come along are to make sure the sales can be supported when salesmen start selling customers on the idea of stuff that doesn’t quite exist yet.

No one on Wall Street is bumping a company’s valuation because of hiring numbers. It was all based on sales targets and low discount rates.
