I believe the dealerships, like the insurance companies, are farming out their
windshield replacement to one company, you see their advertisements all the time. I believe in lieu of the deductible, they replace the glass, but it is not usually the dealers brand glass, it it their own private label. You have to pay more for the branded glass.

Had a Toyota, went in 3 times, and they did not have the glass after telling me they had it. I was frustrated and asked for some compensation for my time. Got replacement wipers. Gave a 1 star online rating. USAA was no help. Did the research and found a local company that put in the branded glass with no problems, for the deductible amount. Great experience, will use them again if necessary. Will never use the company that handles USAA's glass replacement again.
