school work. Once we did this it stopped all of the bargaining for more time and kids were much less grumpy. When they are bored they will grab a book or actually talk to someone.

It’s more of a challenge after 16 or so and we aren’t so strict we won’t make exceptions but it’s consistent enough they won’t ask for just anything.
