You don't understand why young people at 23 do stupid things like street racing?
Well young men have done dumb things for 1000s of years at that age and it will continue. Add lots of money and it can be worse.
Not sure what lifestyle you are talking about but just other day there was a tragic story share on CB about an 18 year old killing a mom and her kids and a few other kids by racing through a street. It happens way too often, but not unique to professional athletes.

I'll never understand why these guys have such a hard time getting away from the lifestyle as professional athletes.

They were seen to be taking guns out of the car and fleeing the scene. A little more than street racing.
