oxcoug Intervention Needed
That much detail makes their humanity very vivid. Even just seeing the names

sometimes chokes me up a bit bc it's such a poignant bookend to the beginning of life when we get our names. War memorials generally kind of stop me in my tracks. Came across the one below recently in Aus (WW I) that was just the deaths of guys from one area of Sydney. There's one in Rhinebeck, upstate NY that combines that town's WWI and WWII deaths and you see whole series of the same last names - which makes you realize that the 'Saving Private Ryan' scenario wasn't ALL that uncommon. 

But the detail you're describing would be pretty overwhelming.
